Photo shoots with little kids are challenging – they’re incredibly fun, but challenging! The Agan family wanted some portraits to commemorate their baby’s 1st birthday, and we chose Princeton University as the location for our shoot. It’s one of my absolute favorite locations for photos – there are endless options! The beautiful architecture, trees, and landscaping created the perfect backdrop for these family portraits, and although the weather surrounding our shoot date was iffy, we got lucky and had amazing weather the day of our shoot. So perfect weather, great location, beautiful family – it doesn’t get any better. My only challenge that day was convincing an active little one year old baby to sit still enough long enough for me to take his picture! After we captured a few cute posed family portraits we realized we were going to have to go with the flow and let him dictate the pace of the shoot – and I personally think this resulted in some of the most authentic, fun photos I’ve ever taken. I think parents with young children will appreciate these portraits – they’re a much more realistic depiction of life with a toddler than any perfectly posed, static portrait. I had an absolute blast with the Agans and am excited to share some highlights from our fun day at Princeton University!
